We have our local fair in September/October and the kids are always so excited to go. It is a good fun field trip...but it isn't cheap here at all. For the 5 of us to go, it is a $200day anyway you look at it, from the admission to the parking, rides, food and more.

We've tried doing it cheaper but there is just no way, unless you go and don't eat or drink or ride anything! :)

We're heading back to the state of my birth, Ohio, next weekend and will catch the county fair while we're there! Fun to see a bit of yours. I grew up exhibiting at the fair--rabbits, my pony, sewing and cooking projects.

And, if it makes you feel any better, I was *just* discussing with someone the other day the beauty of the fried Twinkies, Snickers and Oreos that we get every year at our State Fair in October. Talk about b-a-a-a-d! And,I'm not saying this "sheepishly" at all- I go for the food. (Hey, if lovin' greasy fair-food is wrong, I don't wanna be right!)

I'll post fair pics soon, it was so fun to see yours! We're going on Thursday, the day kids under 12 get in FREE!!
