Something to wine about at airports
With the ban on carry-on liquids, travelers must drink up or lose it.

Kevin and I will be flying to Ireland next week by way of Heathrow airport. We are closely following the news on restrictions in Britian. Untill yesterday we were facing a 20 hr. trip with no carry-on, nothing/nada, not even a book to read. Now, as a homeschool mom who is with children almost 24 hrs a day, I was actually kind of looking forward to this 20hr trip sans kidlets with lots of good reading material, a few snacks and nap time. Throw in a cd player with teaching cd's and homeschool lectures, my husband's ipod with some "Jeeves and Wooster" and I would be a pretty much set. So, this whole terror alert was throwing quite a wrench in my best laid plans. As of yesterday we read that the ban was lifted except for liquids and cosmetics.
(I'm hoping to take the laptop and post some pictures while we are there...I guess that makes me an official 'blogger'). Having 4 kids, this 20hrs. 'free-time' actually represents about 4 weeks of accumulated free-time; not a small thing to sacrafice to nefarious bad guys. Well, I hate to disappoint you, but there will be no pictures of me chugging a bottle of wine before boarding... I imbibe in the more easily obtainable diet coke. I might be able to deliver one of me shoeless, make-up-less, minus underwire un-mentionables, boarding the plane. Ah, the glamour of international travel...
