My "Monk" moment...

Meg's last day at horse camp, I arrived early enough to witness this old-fashioned/nostalgic/messy/germ-sharing/what-are-you-thinking?-this-is-2006?; special moment. I arrived in time to witness one child dunk for an apple, while I was thinking profoundly-"eeww!, I hope Meg doesn't want to try this", I realized my child was standing at the bucket and someone was already holding her hair back for the dunk. It all happened so fast, I knew I only had time to do one of two things: A) shriek loudly and shrilly, then shout out-"for your poor mother's sake, don't move!" or B) grab my camera and get to a strategic photo opt spot. Of course I did the only thing a self respecting scrapbooker could do, I took the picture... The whole time I could only think of all those germs the kids had been sharing in there. Meg was very pleased with the game and her accomplishment. I could only think, "quick-get me a wet wipe!"

I remember doing things like this when I was a kid, but somehow it seems so different when it is your own...hopefully her immune system is strong. You kind of wonder why you worked so hard to santitize the binky every time it dropped...after something like this, kind of makes it all in vain.
Boo Mama, I've been known to take the picture BEFORE comforting the crying child- I am a scrapbooker...
