I loved this post and as a homeschooling mom of 3 boys I totally agree. We often do math, take a break, do handwriting, take a break. My little wild men seem to work better that way!

I read your post at MOB and though I don't have a boy (yet), that book sounds like a great resource! Both books, actually. I'll have to go find them! But even when not teaching boys, these ideas seem like good ones to me!

Thank you for the feedback. :) I have been greatly inspired by Charlotte Mason's philosophy of homeschooling, the both books are very insightful- the Mason books are 4 vols. and quite a bit to wade through. Karen Andola has written a book "Pinecones in my pocket" that present her ideas in a fiction story, which is easy to read, I loved that book. Ambleside online also has online the 4 vols of Mason's works but written in contemporary language.
