Wow. We don;t even set foot in "costume stores" so I didn't even realize. My kids made their own, and I plan that they continue. It is amazing how the sexuality of little girls is continuing. And I agree about the backbone. What happened to just say no. :) The idea that this happened because Baby Boomers won't let it go--I wouldn't be too quick to agree except that my mom and step dad dress up in just this way and go to bars to celebrate, and so do all their friends. And I am sure that my dad and his wife would as well if he liked going to bars.

This year we pulled from our closets and used imagination. It really makes me sad to see what options girls have if they step foot into one of those costume stores. Party City is not my fave :(

Ya know... People (family) sent pictures of parties they had for their kids this year and I was shocked to see a 9 year old wearing hot pants ( real short tight shorts) with fishnet stockings.... It sure made me wonder.... whats up with that?

The first costume I saw Halloween night was teenage girl wearing a Playboy bunny costume. Embarrassing and sad.
