I think your chickens and that one piece of bread sound hyserical. But I know what I would do. I'd be taking some more bread out there! The poor things must be getting completely frustrated. LOL

Barb,

I did go out there and try to rescue Elsie (the hen that doesn't really belong to the flock) I tried to pick her up, so she could eat the bread, but as I was lifting her (had to catch her first) another hen grabbed the bread out of her mouth...so then I grabbed the next hen and tried to take back the bread, I think she growled at me..if chickens can growl. I let go and another hen stole it from her. Decided at that point that it was all rather silly, like they don't get treats during the day! Hubby actually lets Elsie in everymorning to finish the kibble in the cats bowl. they are not starving! They all needed to go to bed, so I will hand out treats tomorrow. I really had better things to do then to chase hens around the backyard!!
