Antique mommy, on being carded..not!

Antique mommy has done it again, I am sitting here with tears rolling down my face, laughing so hard. Go read this, about her date night out and being carded...sort of, not...

I was carded a few years ago, I don't drink, but was sitting at the bar in a restaurant due to lack of seating elsewhere. I think I did actually 'skip' out of the restaurant in sheer giddiness. Kind of made up (in a cosmic sort of way) for the time I was asked at the hospital if I was there to "deliver" and had to fess up that my baby was born last week and I was there to visit her in intensive care. That had to be my most humiliating moment ever. hands-down.

At 10:17 AM, TheNormalMiddle said...: When Cleo was 6 weeks old we went to a babyshower/cookout thing for a friend. Someone asked me when I was due. I sheepishly pointed to the stroller and told them that six weeks ago I delivered THAT baby.

I was mortified and so was she! :)

Oh Lindsey!! Excessively shocking, I must say. I truly think motherhood has taken the last shred of dignity, hurled it on the ground and stomped on it.
The sting of the comment after I had my baby, was that she was one ounce off from 10lbs, I really felt so much lighter...I must have looked truly horrible and fat. No, not must...I did. I always thought I would be one of those cute, petite pregnant women. not so.
Do your cheeks still burn when you remember that moment? Mine do!!

Always a treat when you stop by Lindsey, how was superbowl??

And I read Antique Mommy's post. She has the amazing ability to completely crack me up every single time I read anything she's written. You feel like you were right there, being mortified with her.

I read some of your most recent posts while I was here. You poor thing. What a wonderful concert experience. Yep. Life is just full of those moments that you simply have to set aside and move on without. Trust me, I know.

I'm laughing about the woman he was sitting next to though. I mean, come on, it was just a little pile of kleenex for pete's sake. Could have been sooo much worse! :-)

I think the woman sitting next to Rand didn't have kids,just my guess. She looked pretty disgusted.
